Good morning sunshine.

Get out & play.

We've been doing A LOT of this now that the weather is getting nicer. If only this darn wind would settle down... and this is what CRAZY looks like...

Keeping me on my toes.

Little man is really active, way more than I ever remember Cal being, and it's a bit exhausting. When Bennett was a newborn, having two kids was surprisingly easy for us, but my time has come. These two are keeping me busy, busy. Bennett's into everything he shouldn't be (& has an obsession with cords), pulls up on everything, has absolutely zero fear & he recently started sneaking off to climb the stairs, lovely. Baby gates are going up tonight!

Easter weekend

First up, a trip to Uniontown for a visit with Ian's side of the family & a stay at Grandpa Jack's.

Egg hunt #1
Back home & hot on the Easter Bunny's trail Sunday morning Jackpot! Cal found all the goodies the Easter bunny left for the boys. brunch at Gram & Pop's I'm SO bummed I didn't get a pic of the boys all fancied up together. Cal in a tie and B in his sweater, slacks & loafers... doesn't get much cuter than that.Egg hunt #2

Standing man.

Everytime I turn around he's doing this, and it's kinda making me a wreck.
This cracks me up, this is how Bennett sits. I don't remember Cal ever doing this but whenever B's on this floor this is how he hangs out.

My little hams.

The second I get the camera out, these 2 turn it on. It's tough cause I've been trying to take pics of some of Bennett's new tricks but he comes racing after me when he sees the camera, then Cal gets mad cause I'm not taking enough pics of him. But I can't get enough of their adorable smiles. Now only if I could get a pic of all of little mister's teeth - they're pretty darn cute!

Weekend fun.

Spring has sprung! The weather is getting nicer & the weekends are getting busier. We started last weekend with a 10k race. My sis spread the running bug to me and I'm hooked. Next up, my goal is to do a half marathon this year.

hanging pre-race w/ our #1 fan. Jenni crossing the finish and me (a little ways behind)Next up, Touch-a-truck. It's a fundraiser where there's all kinds of rigs (fire truck, police cars, cememt & garbage trucks, etc.) and the kids get to touch their hearts out. Here's a look at last year's shindig. garbage man Cal. How cool is this - they let the kids spray the fire hose. Luckly Cal insited on wearing his "fire chief hat" (he wears it almost everyday) so he was dressed the part.

And so it begins...

This last weekend we started tackling our Spring to-do list & kicked it off with a little landscaping, planting 19 arborvitaes to be exact. Not fun. Next up, staining the fence, digging out a little hill in the back and putting in a shed, much more landscaping, and so on and so on...
the supervisorsand we finished the weekend w/ a 14th birthday celebration for Luke. Seriously, where did the last 14 years go?!? I still remember my sis going into labor like it was yesterday (and being in labor for a whopping 45ish minutes before little Lucas was born).

best.husband.ever.

I've been really sick with strep this week, we're talking not getting out of bed for 3 days, pain meds just to be able to eat and sleep & absolutely no ability to care for the kids. So thankfully, my hubby stepped up and took 3 days off work to take care for the kiddos & me, and I'll be the first to admit I'm not the easiest patient. The good news is that I'm finally on the med (yay antibiotics!) and I'm praying that this is the last of the ick to come through our house cause it's been a rough couple of months. And I'm pretty sure Ian now thinks I'm the best wife too after spending 3 days in my shoes with the kids. He couldn't wait to go back to work today...

Today's outlook on life.

When life gives you lemons (in my case strep throat & extra lemons after trying different natural pain relief remedies), make lemon bars! Disclaimer for recipients of my lemon bars: I'm no longer contagious (& I wash my hands a ton when baking) so enjoy!

Hockey obsessed.

Whenever we go to a Wild game (hockey, for you non-Wenatchee folks) it's all hockey 24/7 in our house for weeks. This kid LOVES sports more than any youngster I've ever knows. And he doesn't discriminate, he loves them all.

After we go to any sporting event, he rummages through his things to recreate a sports outfit. This is his hockey outfit. And the fun doesn't stop there, he's made me sit on the couch for days cheering "go Wild, boo green" while he hits his "puck" around the house, jumping on and off the coffee table like the hockey players do over the wall.

Three.

I have a love/hate relationship with the age 3. Love the Independence, helpfulness, personality, seeing the wheels constantly turning in his head, all the funny stuff that comes out of his mouth, etc. Hate the stubbornness & attitude.
