Taking it easy.

The kids are recovered, we spent another weekend at home, we relaxed, Ian went skiing with Luke, I did my first spinning class with my sis, we got most of our errands done, cleaned house a bit, the guys had some 'guy time' while I worked today and we ended the weekend with a little family dinner at one of our fave Mexican joints. All-in-all a great weekend. Not many pics to show forth, but here's a few.
Saturday morning coffee someone likes to get into big bro's toys when he's napping. Smart kids cause he always goes for Cal's favorites when he's not around.... First up, the beloved backhoe.
and the "hard worker" next up, fire truck

This ear infection ain't got nothing on us (knock on wood).

You would never know poor Bennett has his first ear infection by looking at him & his happy-go-lucky grin (the day before was a different story) and I'm pretty sure the doc thought I was crazy at first when I took him in yesterday claiming to have a pretty uncomfortable babe... Then she looked in his ear and saw the madness. I remember Cal's first ear infection like it was yesterday... that was a different story.

On the mend.

After a week of some serious ick (we're talking 104+ degree temps), the boys are slowly but surely getting better. It was a longgggg week at home. But we managed not to go completely stir crazy (it was borderline...)

Some of the stuff we did to kill time...

we started a band

posed for some pics & looked cute as always, snot & all. home repairs (steaming Netflix movies on the Wii wasn't working, so Cal insisted on fixing it)

played LOTS of games.

played dress up.
worked on our acrobatics (I have no idea what's going on in this pic, but it looks like B is flying)

and finally joined the living this week and did gym, preschool & soccer!

Bed head.

I get it.

I get the Bieber Fever craze (I don't have it, I just understand it). I had the biggest crush on JT (Justin Timberlake) in my teen years (ok, early 20's too), so I get why the world is wild for JB. And I'm pretty sure this movie will make any hater a fan. Logan and I had an afternoon movie date today & I think it's fabulous my 9 year old niece and I have so much in common... and Ian just thinks I need to grow up. No shame here friends. pic from here

Peace, love & monster trucks!

We had a wonderful week celebrating Cal's 3 amazing years of life. Friday was HIS day. He woke up to a decorated house (his reaction was priceless), picked out a special breakfast, played outside, took a tractor ride.... all the makings for a special, yet simple, day.

he insisted on taking his sissy for a spin.Friday night Cal & Logan celebrated their b-days together (Lo's turned 9 on the 12th), so off to Red Robin for dinner. Grammie (Bert) even came into town to come celebrate with us! Next up, after party at our house.scooter & new skateboard shoes, doesn't get much better than that. the monster truck/peace cake.and ending the night playing with his best buddy. Celebration day #2.

On Saturday, Logan had her party at the play gym & she was kind enough to share her special day with Cal.

Grateful

Today, I'm thankful for my mom who left work to go to the store and get us tylenol, popsicles and brought this tired momma a coffee so I wouldn't have to leave the house with my 2 sick kiddos. Thanks Mom!

one of the few perks of being sick.... popsicles for dinner.

Bah Humbug.

While others were out celebrating their love, wining & dining, etc. my day was spent wiping 2 snotty noses, aspirating, giving medicine, disinfecting, hydrating, purelling, taking temps and I finished the day with a broken toe. Happy Valentine's Day.

I knew our time would come and the ick that's been going would make a stop at the Hunter house sooner or later. And Cal hasn't been really sick in over a year since his daycare days, so we were in for it. On the bright side, I love all the extra snuggles and this gives us a good excuse to enjoy some much needed time at home. And aside from a heart shaped pizza and celebrating v-day with the kids, that's the extent of our normal Valentine's Day celebration so no loss here.
