39.5 Weeks

Still no baby… We had another doctor’s appointment today and things continue to be the same as last week. The doctor told us it could happen anytime. Julie is still working, Friday is her last day, but is working from home more in case things start during the day. We have our next doctor’s appointment Tuesday, which we’re hoping we won’t have to go to, and if we don’t have the baby by then we’ll set up a time to have labor induced. As of this week, the doctor thinks the baby will be in the eight pound range. But depending on when we have the baby he could be bigger considering a baby can gain a half pound a week during the last couple of weeks.

Almost 39 Weeks

We had another doctor’s appointment yesterday and there are no major updates. The doctor said things are progressing and Julie could go into labor at any time. We are just hanging tight, trying not to think about it because it feels like watching paint dry. Of course we’ll keep everyone posted if and when something happens. Below is a picture of us at 38 weeks on Julie's B-Day.

In other news, we had a little Suzie emergency this week. On Monday her eye partially popped out of its socket, again… Julie rushed her to the vet and fortunately Suzie was able to pop it back in on her own after being at the vet for a while as the vet was unsuccessful in her attempts. On Wednesday we took Suzie to a doggy optometrist to get more info on her condition and hopefully find out how it can be prevented. The optometrist noticed that she had an ulcer on her eye so she tried to fix that and then told us about a procedure where they would sew the corners of her eye lids slightly shut which would hopefully keep her eyes in-tact, yikes! We are weighing our options. Below is a picture of patient with her cone on.

37.5 Weeks

We had another doctor’s appointment today. No breaking news… Julie continues to dilate and is now at a “good” two, and the baby is fully engaged. Our doctor said that that we are at a good point to have this baby, but at the same time Julie can easily go full-term and beyond. We just have to wait and see!

The Nursery

As promised here are some pictures of the nursery. It’s still not completely done, but is close. We have to get a couple more things including a little bookshelf. Also, we took down the blue wood letters that spell out the little guy’s name which hang on the corner wall with the stripes (to the left-hand side of the crib).

Also included below is a picture of Suzie curled up on our bag that’s going to hospital. Apparently she wants to make sure we don’t forget to pack her.

Almost 37 Weeks

Today we had a dr.’s appointment and everything continues to look good. Julie has dilated more and is now between a one and a two. The doctor thinks that Julie has begun having some minor contractions (not Braxton Hicks which she continues to have). When we were getting ready to leave the doctor’s office she told us she’d either see us next week at our appointment or in Labor in Delivery before then – yikes!!

We have an opportunity to have another 3D ultrasound this week, however we’re going to pass. Since the little guy will be here soon enough, we’ll wait until the big day to see his cute little face. And the doctor said with how far along Julie is and how low his head is, it would be hard to get a good face shot.

Although the nursery is not completely done we will post some pics of it this weekend.

GO COUGS!

Almost 36 Weeks

Today we had our almost 36 week appointment (we see the dr. weekly now) and things continue to look good! The big news of the appointment is that Julie is dilated one centimeter which was kind of crazy news as this surprised both us and the doctor a bit. This doesn't necessary mean that labor is on the near horizon. We could be at this phase for awhile. The dr. did say that being dilated does indicate that if Julie has to be induced, it will be an easy process since the body is preparing for birth. The baby is also head down and engaged and has been in this position since about 32/33 weeks.

It's really starting to set in that Baby Hunter's arrival is in the near future and we are so excited!
