A perfect little afternoon.

Yesterday morning it looked like the weather was going to put a damper on our afternoon plans, however the skies cleared and the sun came out, so game on. We picked up Logan from school, met up with Luke at the park, played & then finished our playdate with blizzards.

Happy Thursday

All day I thought Wednesday was Thursday which means today should have been Friday... but it wasn't. The weeks that Ian works 5 days seem to last forever, however today was a little brighter since we got to spend the afternoon with these two. In 3 hours we did pretty much everything our house has to offer - a walk/skateboard/scooter ride, basketball, football, soccer, tennis, catch, hide & seek, tag, cars, sidewalk chalk, bubbles, games (candyland, cooties, elefun), bike riding, plasma car & more skateboarding. Needless to say, I had 2 very tired kiddos when the cousins left.(yes, I know this bike is way too small... we just haven't graduated to the big boy bike)

The last week or so.

We celebrated our 5th year of marital bliss!Train ride at a friend's bday party (Cal was in heaven, surprise surprise).Bennett even got to ride the train once (just didn't get a pic of it)
as always, running lots of errands w/ my shopping buddies

someone discovered a new hobby of sneaking off & getting into a plant (& eating the dirt)

we visited our favorite barista after Cal's LAST day of preschool (a Tuesday tradition)spending some quality time with Luke after his track meet and the little bugger getting into even more trouble.

but he's so cute, so I forgive him.having a little brother jam session. and brother bath and of course, garbage day.

Boy's best friend.

I absolutely love the love that Cal has for Clyde & Suzie (& vice versa)... I looked outside the other day and saw this - Suzie is such a good sport. After Cal was done playing with Suz (like 20 minutes later) I looked outside and found her like this. Just chilling.

Looking for a good book?

I finished this book a couple of weeks ago and my oh my, it's a goody. Talk about inspirational. I don't think I would have picked a "war story" on my own to read, but that's the beauty of a book club, it gets you reading books outside your comfort zone. So, if you're looking for a good book, this TRUE story is a must read. pic from here

a little bit of love

I'm a little intimidated by all the pics on my camera from the last week (think birthday parties, anniversary, bike races, outside fun, last day of preschool, etc.) so for now, until I muster up the motivation to do a picture dump, I leave you with this little bit of love.(don't worry, I was stopped at a light when I took this)

OPERATION: Get fat pug back in shape.

Poor Suzie has been packing on the pounds ever since our family started growing and after lots of recent riducle (i.e. being compared to a sand bag, laughed at for having no neck, etc.) I decided enough is enough - time for pug bootcamp! Lots of walks for Suz, means lots of outside time for the kiddos. and an added bonus (for Cal) is daily visits to see the excavators working at the end of our block. we're working on stamina but lots of our walks end up like this. and I have a feeling part of the "weight issue" might have a little sometime to do with Suz's hangout spot.

ugh, i had to redo/repost this. darn blogger...

What's up blogger?!?

Anyone else having issues with Blogger? It took down my last post (fat Suzie) and so I went in to re-post it and I can edit it but it's all wonky from the original and now I'm too lazy too re-edit it. Annoying...

What a week!

This past week has been a bit crazy. Aside from the usuals - gymnastics class, preschool, house work, etc. - we had some fun play dates at the park (& awesome spring weather), a visit from some good friends, Apple Blossom fun, Ian's 30th bday, Mother's Day & an AMAZING 30th birthday/early-Anniversary weekend getaway to Sun Mountain Lodge. Life is full!

Some Misc...

Just one of the girls, cheering on Luke at his track meet.

Off to the parade.Clara & her brother Crosby came over for a playdate while I got to visit with my friend Liz (their momma) and Cal couldn't get enough of her. They played football, baseball, got dirty, etc.We made the most of our kid-free time and packed a 5th Anniversary & 30th bday celebration into a incredible getaway to Sun Mt. Lodge. I'm a little obsessed with the Methow now and can't wait to get back there. We ate good (not to mention, enjoyed eating out without any kid meltdowns), did some wine tasting, shopped, hiked, and ate more. (thanks mom & dad for watching the kids) kinda crazy, there were deer everywhere.view from our room balcony
and a little friend hanging out outside our front doorand of course, everything we did reminded us of the kiddos - including this bison at the lodge that we knew Cal would freak over - so we got our pic w/ it. Hooray, hooray for the 8th of May! Sunday was Ian's 30th so after we got home from Sun Mountain we had a BBQ party at our house to celebrate. Happy Birthday Old Man!
and we had a couple extra party guests, Edward
& Jacob.
