Hitting the slopes

So much to blog about, including several other weeks of skiing, but this is an easy one since it's all on my phone. The boys and I went up to Mission Ridge today and met up with some of Cal's buddies for a morning of skiing and what a day it was... about 4" of new snow this morning & 31 degrees. Cal did a lesson with his buddy Henry and his other buddy Ulrich was skiing with his mom & sis who joined the boys for a run. It's been such joy watching Cal learn to ski this season & he just loves it. And today after a couple warm up runs up the rope tow & down the bunny hill the instructor decided to take the boys up the chair lift, Cal's first time. I think I was more nervous for him, than he was. But he totally rocked it, and even rode up every trip with strangers while the instructor was with Henry. And even more special, that he got to share this first with his friends.

FIVE!

Callahan turned the big 5 last Monday and we had such a wonderful time celebrating our first born. So much fun in fact he had about 4 days straight of festivities...  Friday of last week was his friend b-day party at the fire station and what an awesome group of friends he has, Saturday we celebrated his best bud's 5th b-day with dinner & cake at their house, Sunday was Cal's joint family party with his b-day buddy Logan with dinner at Red Robin and a party at Jenni's, then Monday was all about Cal with a school party and our family dinner and presents. Don't be confused by the same outfit in almost every pic though, these pics were taken over several days. Cal got a new outfit for his party and refused to take it off for days straight. The birthday boy gets what the birthday boys wants...

and this weekend...

Grammie & Pa were in town for a night this weekend for an early Cal b-day celebration, spend a night with the boys while we went out for Cal's annual school auction (thank you!), and get some skiing in at Mission. And it was a day for the memory books cause Cal had his first ski lesson. The boy absolutely loved every minute of it. So much in fact, we'll be back up next weekend!
a kid after my own heart
this poor guy was begging to go skiing... next year kiddo.
Rocking the bunny hill (Cal's the first one you see come off the rope tow then ski down - I shot this w/ my phone so I couldn't zoom)! What I didn't get on film was right after he got to the bottom he yelled, "BOOYA!"
and a the rope tow (Ian's in the brown coat with Cal in between his legs in the blue)

Last weekend.

Taking in a Wild (hockey) game, with two of the biggest fans I know.
a mom/daughters movie date

hibachi birthday dinner
and a celebration to follow for mom's 60th!
and for the not so fun, we did a lot of this....

Lucky me.

My boys (all 3 of them) are such good troopers. One of my favorite restaurants in Bellevue was closing its doors at the end of January so for my b-day I wanted to go over and get one last meal there and of course do a little shopping. The 3 of them gladly obliged, and over the mountains we went for the day.
Tejas Trio, you will me missed!
