First Christmas and boy was it fun!

We went to Wenatchee over Christmas and celebrated x-mas with my folks. Today we head up and do a belated x-mas with the Hunters. I think if Cal could talk he would say it was the best day of his life - he had so much fun. He's spent the last two days playing non-stop, every waking minute with all of his new goodies.

Sneaking off to open presents without everyone

Clyde opening his gifts Seeing his new horsie and admiring it... of course Suzie had to go for a ride too
Here's a little video of Cal showing off his walking and waving skills, at the same time.

and now the fun part, trying to figure out where to put everything...

Cabin Fever

We're all going a little stir crazy in the house with minimal trips out this last week. I tried to venture out today, got Cal all bundled up, popped the car in 4Lo to get out of the driveway and go figure -- there's a postal truck stuck in the ditch at one end of the street blocking the way and a another car stuck and blocking the street at the other end. So back to the house we go.

Suzie's resorted to stealing binkis to stay entertained (something she's NEVER done).

Cal's resorted to sneaking off and trying to open his Christmas presents.
I've resorted to Barney. There's only so much I can do in our little house to keep Cal entertained so Barney's helping me out.

Holy snow!

I went out and measured this morning and the snow was up to 10.5 inches. By far the most snow we've ever seen in our 5 years in Seattle... It finally stopped snowing this morning. Dogs are loving the snow. It's hilarious to watch Suz , she loves running through it but totally sinks.

Our little snow bunny

We even had some visitors come and play in the yard. We caught two raccoons right outside our front window. One got on its hind legs and peeked in the window.

We got Cal all fancied up in an attempt to see Santa. On our way home from the airport yesterday we were going to swing by Northgate. We pulled in the parking lot (aka skating rink)and after seeing cars sliding all over the place we threw in the towel and went home.

The stockings were hung....

on the armoire with care... Little improvising since we don't have a chimney :)
Cal's loving all things Christmas, including my "whimsical tree." We have a never-ending glitter trail through the house.
We did an early Christmas with my sis and family late last night (after their hellacious trip over here) since they are going to be in Hawaii over x-mas. Poor Cal was in bed by the time they got here so he missed opening gifts but he couldn't have been more excited this morning playing with the aftermath.

Beach baby to snow baby

Since Cal is finally feeling better we decided to venture out and enjoy the snow. He didn’t officially play in it yet, but he had a hoot being outside taking the pups for a walk.

Like father, like son

Little helper

Although Cal's been REALLY sick, he's still pulling his weight in chores around the house.

Helping dad unload the dishwasher

Helping mom with the laundry. I fold, Cal unfolds.
All that work is tiring... I put Cal down for a nap. He played in his crib for awhile and when he got quiet I went to check on him and this is how I found him - sitting up sleeping.

Terrorizing the dogs

Poor Clyde and Suzie. Cal's on the hunt for them all day... But I think they secretely like it.

Retreating in the laundry room for some peace and quiet

We're leaving on a jet plane

This is how we kept Cal entertained for 6 hours on the plane. He ate and ate and ate...

Oahu

We went to Oahu first for 3 days to see the Cougs play U of H. Pretty much the entire plane to Oahu was full of Cougs and we even sang the fight song in the friendly skies. While walking the streets of Honolulu you'd constantly hear "Go Cougs." Fun times!

Hiking Diamond Head

It poured all day Saturday (the day of the game) including during the game. Fortunately, we had really high seats that were under the over hang so we stayed dried. Ian and I had fun but out of the 3 of us, Cal by far had the most fun. Words don't do justice to how excited he was. Ian and I are convinced that he thought all the cheering was for him. His face during the whole game...
WIPED

We spent our last full day in Oahu driving up to the North Shore, checking out the surfing World Cup and driving around the island. Waves were amazing on the N. Shore and we found some fabulous beaches.
fun with Sarah
And of course eating, Cal's favorite.

Ahhh, Maui

After Oahu we were so excited to get to Maui. We spent the majority of our time timing chilling by the pool or hanging at the beach.

Pool time!

Beach time! eating sand
