Hi

I’ve been enjoying every last minute with Callahan since it’s my last full week home before going back to work. Fortunetaly, I will be home with him Wednesdays and Fridays (and Ian home on Mondays), as I don’t think I would be able to bear being away from him five days a week.

We did two daycare trial runs this week where we went and visited and I even left Cal for 30 minutes the first day and an hour the second. Although, I’m bummed he has to go to daycare there’s a little part of me that knows it will be good for him to socialize with other babies his age.

In other Cal news, he’s continuing to teeth like crazy, but we have yet to see a tooth pop through. He’s drooling like a mad man and is sticking anything he can get his hands on in his mouth. He’s also getting more and more mobile every day. He’s started to try and “escape” from him swing. And if he's propped sitting up he tries to pull himself up to sit up.

Today we went to dad’s office to have lunch and learned about safety ;)

Fun fact for the day…

A year ago today (Monday of Memorial Day weekend 2007) we found out we were having a baby! And now a year later we couldn’t be happier.

We ended up staying pretty low-key for the remainder of the 3-day weekend. Since I am getting ready to head back to work we had lots of chores that we wanted to get done and just wanted to spend as much time as possible with Callahan. We also went to cousin Greg’s house for a BBQ.

Fun with Cal

Callahan has been on a “roll” this week. He’s been rolling over, has been trying out some new toys since he's becoming a big boy, he’s been going to bed around 7 p.m. every night and he even trying to sit up on his own. Here are a couple pics from today. We’re still trying to figure out our plans for the rest of the weekend but we want to do something fun as long as the weather holds up so hopefully more pics from the weekend to come.

Our yard

This post isn’t as exciting as pictures of Callahan but our flower beds look so good that I have to share the pics. We worked on them a little over the Spring and then when we came back from vacation everything was in full bloom.

What a doll

Here are a couple new cute pics of Callahan. As you can see from one of the pictures below he started sucking his thumb. In the past he’s done it occasionally but as of today I think he’s officially a thumb sucker. It's like he discovered how great it was during the night last night and now he can’t live without it.

We are having so much fun with him – he’s at such a great age! He’s the happiest baby, is always smiling and loves to talk.

Back from vacation

We got back yesterday from our vacation to San Diego and Yuma, AZ. It was our first real trip with Cal and he did fabulous. We were a little nervous about how he’d do on plane but he did really good (besides a little poopy mess 10 minutes into the flight to SD). The plane must have made him really relaxed because he slept there and back with out making a peep. When we got back to Seattle he never woke up and went right to bed once home and slept for over 12 hours last night.

We had beautiful weather the entire trip. In San Diego we hung out in the Gaslamp District (and drank beers at Dick’s – our favorite spot); met up with Heather and Megan; went to La Jolla and saw the harbor seals, ate, walked around, walked on the beach; and went out to Coronado island. Then on Saturday we ventured over to Arizona to visit Amy (Ian’s sis) and the family. It was SO hot there but I loved the weather. Cal was able to spend some time with his cousins Gracie and Emmett.

All-in-all it was a great trip, but we are relieved to be back and see the dogs. And we were anxious to meet Hailey Hinton who was born over the weekend!

2 Years!!

The pic is a little random cause who has time for a posed sit down pic with a baby (especially at his bedtime) and yes, that is spit up on my sweat shirt - it's a regular staple of my outfits now-a-days.

We will be celebrating our annivery while in San Diego later this week!! We're our so excited for our first vacation with Callahan! His SPF 55 sunscreen is packed so he's ready for some sunshine and warm weather.

Mother's Day

Today was a great first Mother's Day! We had Granny and Pa Hunter down for dinner and Ian even got his way and we all played Wii together. I get an extended Mother's Day because tomorrow night I have a facial that the boys got me - yay!

3 Month Old Today

Callahan is three month old today and it’s my first Mother’s Days – what a great day! Callahan had a great night last night too. We laid him down before 9 p.m. and we didn’t hear a peep from him until 4:30 a.m. He got up, ate and we were back in bed until 8 a.m. We have a busy week coming up, in preparation for our upcoming vacation!

Here are some pics from the last couple of days.
