best buds...... for now

The boys have decided this week that it's pretty cool to have a brother & have been playing magically together (most of the time). And these moments have been my little slice of heaven. There's nothing better than them minding their own business, playing nicely TOGETHER in the playroom, chatting, sharing toys, etc. while momma enjoys her coffee and does some online shopping housework.
totally unprovoked by mom... promise!

The never ending winter.

At least someone was excited about the five inches of new snow that we got last night (well, the kids were too until I busted Cal's bubble and said they couldn't go out to play this morning....)
I was playing around with my camera's exposure and these were the first 2 pics I took... Kinda creepy funny.

Jump jump.

They jump off of everything, climb anything, stand on whatever they can get up on, etc.  Boys will be boys...

Weekend in review.

Recipe for a great weekend: date night with my man Friday night, a massage, Larry's Chicken, date night with my other man (Cal) Saturday night, wine, sunshine (aside from the snow today, ugh) and catching up on my gossip magazines.
getting ready to watch Lo in her school's Missoula Children's Theater show
"the munchkins"
Whenever we go to anything - sporting event, play, musicial, etc. - Cal alwasys insists on coming home and reinacting it. So after the play, he told everyone he needed to get home for his 'practice' and made Ian and I sit through several "shows"
and then he insisted we do a photo shoot just like the kids did after the play
After a couple days of sunshine and not enough time to get out and play we decided today was the day. Unfortunately, we just so happened to get to the park (via walking) during a snow storm and mid-30 temps so the outside fun was short-lived.

Lots of elk.

Last weekend we drove to the lovely town of Naches to check out the
Oak Creek Wildllife Area. And it was awesome. The elk from the wild come down the hills everyday in the afternoon for a 1:30 feeding, in the winter. It was pretty cool to see so many elk up close and personal and there were a ton of huge bulls. Definitely something we'll be back to see again.

Sun goddess.

We're all so happy to see the sun, but this lady is relishing in it.  Bring on the Spring.
In the spirit of embracing the sunshine, we met up with this little dude and his mama at the park a couple of weeks ago and it might have been a little preemptive with a good portion of the playground still covered in snow/ice. And oh boy, have our playdates changed from this summer. We now have two very active 1 year olds on our hands.

Mystery of the missing bottom tooth.

One of my biggest superficial parenting fears is my kid falling down & knocking out a tooth.  Well, how ironic is it that Bennett is missing one of his bottom teeth?!

So for the longest time, our little dude only had 7 teeth - 4 top & 3 bottom.  Then, all of his other teeth, aside from his toddle molars, came in within a couple months.  Because they came in so fast I didn't keep track of which ones came in and their order. So a full mouth of teeth later, I was inspecting his mouth and noticed that he only had 3 front bottom teeth....  What the heck.

So a couple weeks ago, B had his first dentist appointment. His teeth checked out just fine, aside from the minor issue that the dentist confirmed he only has 3 bottom teeth!  Say what?! I guess it's not totally unheard of that some teeth just don't come in.  Either there was just never a tooth to come in or two teeth fused together before coming in to form one big tooth.  So what does this mean for his permanent teeth (my first question)?  Well once he's a little older they can do x-rays to see if there's a permanent tooth. And if there isn't, well that's a good question. Like the dentist said, at least it's one of his bottom teeth.

My Valentines.

Cal's class had their Valentine's Day party today... To say he was jazzed (pre and post class) is an understatement. Candy, love, party... It doesn't get much better than that for a 4 year old.
their idea of sharing...
these 2 had a major love fest while sitting in my lap.
There's no shortage of love going around in this house folks. Our hearts our full.

L-U-V Madonna

The highlight of our Superbowl this year was the halftime show (and of course all the food). The boys went nuts over Madonna. Now I get daily requests to listen to "Miranda" in the car from Cal. I can't complain.

Clyde's bday, part 2.

Cal's birthday weekend extravaganza!

On Saturday, our boy turned FOUR. Callahan made me a mom 1,460 days ago and hands down it's been best (yet, some of the most trying) days of my life. It was an awesome weekend celebrating our little dude with family & friends, including some wonderful friends who were in town for the weekend making it extra special (thanks Hinton's!) And Cal shares his bday with a very special lady in his life - Logan - who's birthday is the day after making it all the more fun.

Happy 10th birthday to our Billy Clyde.

Bieber fever.

I came out of the shower to find this... Cal rocking out with my ipod & yelling, "mom, it's Justin Bieber, it's Justin!"  He's now added a 'music maker' (aka ipod) to his list of bday present demands requests.  Of course this is #2 to his first ask.... an iphone.

19 months (duh).

In case you saw this post earlier my My lovebug is 19 months today, not 17... I blame my awesome brain power (aka mom brain) on conversing with a 1.5 & 4 year old all day, every day.
