And this is the reason I haven't cut the mullet... I just love the little curls.

Weekend in Wenatchee

We were in Wenatchee last weekend visiting the fam and even got to enjoy some Apple Blossom fun.

hanging out with luke after the kiddie parade

fun at the park

of course, mr. independent wanted to go down the slide by himself

it's hard to see in this pic but luke was skateboarding and cal wants to be just like his big cuz and tried hoping on playing on gram & pop's swing set, ian's clearly enjoying himself

The mullet has got to go!

I'm insisting that I take Cal to get his first haircut this week. Ian's insisting that I don't...
To Cal's defense, it may be long and stringy looking in this pic, but it doesn't always look this bad. Most of the time it's curly and kinda tucked under, but when it gets caught on his collar it's just bad news.

Fun with Logan

Jenni and the fam were in town for The Killers concert, and Logan stayed home with us for the night. Cal couldn't have been more excited, he just adores her.

Our living room turned into an indoor play field and we had an intense *modified* game of 4-square going on. Here's some pics of the 4-square all stars.

Monday with dad

First, there's nothing I love more than the fact that Ian remembers to take pics of Cal during their day together so I can see what they've been up to. Second, there are some pics of Cal that I look at and am like holy #$!&, he's not a baby anymore. These are some of those pics.

(for some reason my pics look like crapola when I post them, if you click them to make them bigger the quality is much better)

she's a fatty

We used to pride ourselves on having a "fit" pug. Pre-Cal, she was skinny. Post-Cal, she got really fat.

This is what happens about half-way through our walks, I end up having to carry Suz home. Her face says it all.

Go M's

We went to our first M's game of the season last weekend and Cal had so much fun - he clapped for nearly three innings straight.

gotta have the family self pic

Blast from the past... Cal's first M's game, almost a year ago to the day

On a non-M's related note, I thought I'd give a little update on what our big 14 month old is up to for those that haven't seen him in awhile:

  • He’s saying lots of words. Some of his favorites are eyes, book, teeth, fish, go, Suz (Suzie), Claw (Clyde), mama & mom, dada, duck, that, shoes, cool, gauk (aka pacifier) and he shakes his head for “no.” He’s also repeating a lot so it’s time to choose our words wisely.

  • He loves brushing his teeth and washing his hands and gets super excited if I ask him if he wants to do either of these.

  • He LOVES belly buttons and showing his off. He also like pulling up other peoples’ shirts and finding their “button.”

  • His three favorite things (besides us and the dogs) are cars (surprise, surprise), books and his “babies” (stuffed animals).

  • He loves playing outside and going for walks.

  • His new favorite foods are green vegetables. We just discovered that he loves salad, and he’d chose peas, asparagus, etc. any day over pizza.
  • He does have a bit of a mullet but the back of his hair is curly and I just don't have it in me to get it cut yet and lose the curls.

Yay for sunshine!

Now that the weather is finally getting nice, we've been spending lots of time outside. Cal prefers to spend the bulk of his time outdoors sitting in his Cosie Coupe. our little hound dog

Easter 09

We spent Easter at Grammy and Pa Hunter's and it poured all day so we improvised and did an egg hunt indoors. Cal didn't mind - he loved finding the eggs and putting them in his basket. And he loved eating the candy even more.

Easter {Gram & Pop} Bunny came early

and Cal had so much fun opening his box of goodies...

he especially loved his new animal book!

Playing with Riley

Cal's buddy Riley was in town for the weekend with his folks and the boys had fun playing together. Cal had some issues sharing his toys but he did let Riley go for a spin in his car.
(thanks for letting me borrow some pics from your blog, Crystal!)

Business in the front....party in the rear!!!

So Cal has been working very hard to establish a reputable mullet. Here is the first of many posts on his progress.

Getting Suzie's pool ready for some spring swimming

the weekend

Poor Callahan has been sick so we had a pretty chill weekend nursing the little guy back to good health. Although, he's sick we managed to get outside and enjoy the amazing weather. Cal LOVES being outside so the fresh air brightened his spirits.

Carkeek Park

Mr. Independent... he wants to do everything on his own now.

We also went for a hike in Mukilteo to check out the job site Ian's been working on for the last two years.

Multi-tasking

He's a talented little guy - he can drive a car, read a book and give his baby some love all at the same time.
