Day 11

Today was day 11 of Wenatchee's air quality being at a "hazardous" level. And we're not just talking hazardous for high risk categories, it's for everyone. I've tried to be a good sport and limit my complaining cause we're all in the same boat over here, but I'm so over it. We were hoping that when we'd come back from Vegas things would be better... not the case, it just keeps getting worse. It's hard to imagine how bad it actually is unless you see/breath it yourself. Imagine a really bad fog with poor visibility, but that fog is actually smoke... and dealing with this for 11 days with no relief in sight. I miss seeing a blue sky. It's depressing, annoying & makes you feel a bit claustrophobic knowing there are fires burning in the hills around us but not being able to see them cause you can't see any mountains. We can't even see across the river. Our house smells like smoke, our clothes reek, we're all sick (soar throats, burning eyes, headaches, nausea, etc.). Some schools are canceled, all outdoor activities have been canceled indefinitely (i.e. Cal's soccer, boo), and we're stuck inside. We are not homebodies so the boys and I are going a little nuts. The only solution is to leave town. Ok, there's my vent. Here's a little look at some of the things that we've been doing indoors to pass the time.
yesterday I brought in reinforcements
and today I managed to get all 3 kiddos to 3 different schools, on time (maybe even a bit early)!

Viva Las Vegas

SO.MUCH.FUN!  Enough said.... We had a blast down in Sin City but by Sunday we couldn't wait to get back to our boys. And we owe a huge thanks to Grammie & Pa for taking such good care of them while we were gone. I didn't  have a camera so all pics are compliments of the good ol' iphone.
Margaritaville + Flava Flave = trouble fun!!
Tailgate time. There were SO many Cougs down there for the game it felt like we were at the home game.

Ten on Ten.

After taking a couple months off, I figured I'd jump back on the 10 on 10 bandwagon this month. And it would get me using my SLR (which I feel like I am now re-learning) since my phone seems to be snapping all my pics these days. Of course I waited until today, a very sub-par day, but better late than never.

breakfast chat. off to school. driving tunes. late & waiting. park. need to clean. yum. yay, she's back! independent play. bedtime stories.

While dad's away...

The boys & I had a week to ourselves while Ian was off backpacking through the Enchantments with his buddies (see FB for those pics), so we filled our time with bike rides, park visits, playdates, dinner with family, movie nights, school, soccer and only had one near ER-visit for Mr. Cal who took about a 7 ft. head dive off our playset....
don't tell dad, we might have had some popcorn in bed during movie night

Go Green!

Soccer season is here and this is the first year Cal's been able to play in the league. Which means lots of games, and I've kinda been waiting for this day since the day I had kids. I love me some competitive sports, and I might have discovered that I'm a little competitive when it comes to my kids playing sports. And guess who scored 3 goals today?!?  Yep, Cal! He loves it & his having a blast playing.
Goooo TEAM!

First day of school (pre-k)!

Cal's only been looking forward to this day since the beginning of summer break. He couldn't wait to get back at it & I don't blame him, he goes to school with an awesome group of kiddos & his teacher (same as last year) is pretty amazing. He was so ready for today, in fact he begged me during breakfast to just drop him off and not walk him in. I don't think so little man.

Labor Day Weekend

An uneventful weekend it was... just the way I wanted it after a crazy August & an even busier September ahead.

we kicked off the weekend with some much anticipated Cougar football.
time for a train ride.
B's first time riding sans mama.
then onto the splash pad
and of course some weekend rest.
