Learning how chocolate is made. I picked a good one to go on!
Post-field trip. This kid was wiped when he got home. He fell asleep playing in the playroom.
Look who's sitting up on her own.

5 months

Miss Emmie hit 5 months on the 14th. She's content, happy as can be, healthy & such a little love bug. Here's what baby girl is up to in her 5th month of life... She's finally out of the swing and napping good in her crib, she's starting to sit up on her own, she loves playing with her toys, if she cries it's usually because she's tired, she's still wanting to eat a couple times a night (ugh), she loves her jumper, she adores her brothers, she's a great little passenger in the car, she still just has the two teeth, her feet are crazy long, she's fascinated with the dogs, she squeals in delight and it's SO high pitched and she loves to talk and has such a sweet little voice.
Our big 5th month milestone.... starting food. I had planned on waiting until 6 months, however Emmie just wasn't getting enough milk at night so it was either supplement with formula or give the girl some food.  Rice cereal was a bit of a bust the first couple of tries (she hated it), but last night we turned a corner and she seemed to really like it.
first feeding
finally liking her cereal & sippy cup last night

Emmie's newborn pics

I'm finally getting around to ordering Emmie's newborn pics for the fam that Mary took for us, and I realized I never shared all of them.  So here they are for your viewing pleasure. I can't believe how much baby girl has changed in the last 5 months.
And I can't watch that, without watching this gem (her birth video).

Happy Birthday Cal!

We had the best week (yes, a week's worth of fun) celebrating our boy.  Last Tuesday, Cal's actual bday, he woke up to a decorated house, had a special breakfast, many 'Happy Birthday' serenades, school, soccer club and then a joint family birthday party with his almost (one day off) birthday buddy, Logan.
a little obsessed with this bday present.
Then after months of conversations with Cal about not doing a party this year and coming up with fun alternatives, we ended up throwing together a party in a couple of weeks cause he changed his mind and just had to have one. So Cal invited his good buddies and had a the best time at the bowling alley arcade.
And we concluded the birthday week with a Sunday night slumber party in our room.

Emmie's Baptism

Emmie was baptized on January 12th and it was such a beautiful day. I've been meaning to post about this for the last month but I was hoping to go through all the pics my (now) future brother-in-law took during the baptism, but I'll have to get to that and post those a little later.

We scheduled the baptism before Bennett got sick and post-sickness we went back and forth on whether or not we should reschedule since he wasn't able to attend and we had so much going on with his recovery. However, knowing it's such a special event in her life we kept it on the 12th. And I'm so glad we did. It was the Feast of the Baptism which gave it so much relevance that specific day.  Father Tom's homily was perfect and so memorable. And even more memorable, was that little lady wore the Christening gown that I was baptized in 32 years ago.
Emmie & her Godfather, Joe.  We missed you Godmother Gina!

Clyde turns 12

Billy Clyde turned 12 on Feb 8th and we of course celebrated in style with our annual party filled with presents & a cheeseburger.

the boys reading their cards to Clyde that they made for him.

But the real bday gift for Clyde was {hopefully} a new lease on life and a few extra years with him thanks to a surgery that we had done a couple of weeks ago to help him breath.
