Two week check-up
Callahan had his two week check up today with his doctor and he weighs a whopping 11 pounds and is 23 inches long. In the past 1.5 weeks, since we last saw his doctor, he’s gained almost two pounds!! He’s like his mommy and loves a good meal. Overall the doctor said that he looks great!

Two weeks old
Callahan is two weeks old today and we already feel like he’s changed so much. He continues to amaze us everyday! Ian went back to work today – his two weeks off went by way too fast. Cal has an appointment with his pediatrician on Wednesday and we’re really anxious to find out how much he’s grown.

One week old
Today Callahan is one week old and we are loving every minute of parenthood. He is doing great at home and we are starting to get a schedule down and are getting more sleep at night which has been wonderful. Every day the little guy amazes us. He has so many facial expressions and has even started to smirk and smile.
Callahan’s first doctor’s appointment was last Friday and his doctor said he looks great. He was almost back up to his birth weight, which impressed the doctor since he was only four days old, but the kid loves to eat so it didn’t surprise us.

Welcome Callahan Brady Hunter!
Callahan is three days old today! The little guy was born on Monday, February 11th at 7:06p.m., weighing a whopping 9 lbs, 6.7 oz. and is 21.5 inches tall. His size took all of us by surprise. Julie was induced Monday morning at 8:30 a.m. and went into active labor at noon.
We got home from the hospital yesterday (Wednesday) and are getting settled in. Callahan is doing great! Suzie and Clyde both love their new little brother very much and Suzie won’t leave his side.
Cal has his first doctor’s appointment tomorrow and we’ll post another update in the next couple days with some more pictures.

41 weeks & still no baby...
Today he’s a week overdue. Looks like tomorrow is going to be the big day, hopefully! Julie is scheduled to be induced and we will get a call from the hospital when it’s a good time for us to come in. There is a possibility that we could get bumped if labor & delivery is too busy, but we are crossing our fingers that this is not the case and that they will call with the good word relatively early so we don’t have to sit by the phone all day. We are both REALLY ready for this and are so excited. We’ll make sure to call or text everyone once we head in so if you don’t hear from us it’s likely that we’re still sitting at home.

40+ weeks
Again, still no baby… We had a doctor’s appointment today and while all continues to look good with the baby, our doctor was really surprised that Julie hasn’t gone into labor yet. For those that know the medical jargon, Julie is 2-3 cm dilated, almost 100% effaced and the baby’s head is at a negative 1. Needless to say, Julie’s body is ready. We are just waiting for the contractions to progress. The doctor did schedule Julie to be induced next Monday (2/11). Unfortunately she’s out of town until Monday so we have to wait 6 days and if Julie has the baby this week she won’t be there to deliver. The good thing is that this will give us a little more time to hopefully have labor start naturally – which we are crossing our fingers will happen any minute/day.
Below is a picture of Julie at over 40 weeks – this is what being REALLY pregnant and really uncomfortable looks like.

Due date has come and gone…
Super Bowl Sunday, also the due date of baby Hunter, has come and gone and still no baby. We are trying to stay optimistic that it will happen any day but both of us are feeling like the big day is never going to come. There are so many signs that labor is on the imminent horizon however the little guy is being stubborn and doesn’t want to make his appearance. We have a doctor’s appointment tomorrow where we will hopefully know more on what’s ahead. Our fingers are crossed for a natural start to the labor in the next couple of days but we will definitely take an induction too. Stay tuned for more information…
