5 Months!

Cal turned 5 months yesterday! To celebrate he went to the dr. to get some shots, went shopping at Target and Costco with mom, took some naps, listened to his favorite song in the car - Fidelity by Regina Spektor (I got to get this kid some kid's music), took the dogs for a walk, ate more rice cereal and passed out at 7 p.m.

Yummy

Lights out

Cal tried his first solids tonight, tasty delicous rice cereal & milk - yummy! He was a natural at eating with a spoon.

Got my spoon and am ready to eat!

Cal’s new hobbies…

1) Blowing bubbles with his mouth – he thinks this is fascinating

2) Waking up at 3 a.m. and wanting to get up for the day, fun times… Hopefully this doesn’t last long.

3) More crib gymnastics now during the night & snuggling with his crib bumper

4) Getting a death grip on mommies hair and pulling

Ian asked me what I do to get Cal to smile like this when I take his pic. My answer, nothing. All I have to say is 'give me a smile' then I smile at him and he lights up. I could take a hundred pics of him a day cause he's so entertaining and animated.

Moose on the Loose

Apparently there is a moose on the run in E. Wenatchee and my sis saw it hanging out last Friday. Jenni and the kids were cruising down the street by the mall and low-and-behold, there was a giant moose crossing the street. Here’s a pic of it from an article in the Wenatchee World.

This reminds me of the Cougar that I saw in Pullman (yes, a real life Cougar, aka mountain lion). I was at KFC/Taco Bell and there was a Cougar pacing the retaining wall in the parking lot. When we called 911, the dispatcher was totally chill and said, “Oh ya, there have been sightings in that area.” And that was it..

Lots of firsts

Cal had lots of firsts this weekend. He went on his first camping trip (sort of), celebrated his first 4th of July and caught his first real cold.

This weekend was the annual Weber family campout (Ian’s mom’s side of the family) so 30+ Webers congregated for the weekend at 8-mile campground outside of Leavenworth. We sort of camped – we spent the days at the campground but went back to Wenatchee at night to sleep at my parents. It was a blast and Cal loved it – I think he liked the combination of the fresh air and all the attention.

Unfortunately on Friday night Cal woke up during the night with a cold. The nights have been rough cause he's so congested and has trouble laying flat and sleeping. We got a taste of what it was like to have a newborn all over again on Fri. and Sat. night (hopefully not tonight) - I sure don’t miss those sleepless nights. Besides having cold symptoms (congestion, sneezing, etc.) you would never know that he was sick cause it hasn't dampered his spirits.

Gotta have the Bumbo Napping by the campfire
Having fun with Grandma Hunter

Playing with Grandpa John's head

Giving kisses (or trying to eat Logan's face)

He loves to stand like a big boy

Clyde (w/his mouth open), Hermione (Clyde's sis) & Suzie

Aquatic Pug

Taking a head first swim

Seasoned Mariners Fan

Cal is becoming a regular at Safeco – he went to his third Mariners game tonight. My goal by the end of the season is to get Cal on the Jumbo-tron screen. Although it went way past his bedtime, he had fun. He gets mesmerized by the crowd and the cheering. We had balls flying all around us this game so I was a little nervous about one coming our way but we made it through the game without getting hit ;)
