Hooray, Hooray for the 8th of May

Yesterday we celebrated Ian’s 27th B-Day! Ian pretty much had a week full of celebration since he begged everyday to open a present and I caved in… I did save his big gift until his actual birthday though. Joe and Gina came over for dinner and I’m hoping that her holding Cal got Gina’s labor hormones going and that Hailey will decide to come out this weekend.

In other baby news, our good friends the Burdo’s welcomed their son Riley into the world on Wednesday. We visited them at the hospital and he’s adorable!!

Cal started sleeping in his crib and the transition into his own room is so far (knock on wood) going really well. He also started teething which is not fun...

One more Callahan update

Callahan had a dr.'s appointment last Tuesday and at 11 weeks he weighed 15 pound 4 ounces. All our doctor could say is "wow, he's really thriving..." Good news for him, bad news for me since he's eating all the time ;) We decided that I have a natural gift for predicting baby weight. At our previous appointment I guessed Cal's weight and height both exactly so the nurse wanted to test out my skills again before she weighed Cal and sure enough, I guessed his weight right on, down to the ounce again!

Hooray for Spring Weather

This week was an eventful one. Tuesday, Cal and I went to Ben and Jerry’s free scope day with Emilie, Charlie and some other mommies and baby boys. On Wednesday Ian went to a conference in Vancouver so Callahan and I headed over to Wenatchee with the dogs. There we visited Gram at her school and Cal was showered with attention from all of Gram’s work friends. He even got mauled by a bunch of 3rd graders so when we got home I disinfected him. Cal spent time with his cousins, Luke and Logan, who gave him a bunch of fun new toys like two Tickle Me Elmos. Cal went to his first parade (it was Apple Blossom), laid out in the sun, felt grass on his feet for the first time, and did a lot of smiling for Gram and Pop.

We came back to Seattle on Saturday and went to dinner at Emilie and Brett’s. Cal got to hang out with his friend Charlie before he went to bed and Charlie even let Cal use his jumper toy while we ate dinner, which Cal loved! Today (Sunday), we all slept in until 8:30 and then spend pretty much all day working outside because it was so nice outside.

For those who lost count, Callahan is 12 weeks old tomorrow!

Forgot to mention

We forgot to mention the cutest thing that Callahan did the other night. He was sleeping in my arms on the couch and he had a laughing attack in his sleep. He was laughing so hard Ian thought he was crying since he couldn't initially see his face and didn't see his huge smile. It was hilarious and seriously the cutest thing ever! We're both a little perplexed about what he was dreaming out because neither one of us have heard him laugh like that before.

Tiring Weekend

We had another eventful weekend. We went to Joe and Gina’s baby shower/BBQ on Saturday where Cal got to meet lots of new people and was showered with attention. He also rubbed Gina’s belly to try and get Hailey to come out a little early. Of course he put on a show and was in a great mood for five hours without a nap!

Cal is becoming a seasoned Mariners fan catching another game today. This time it was the three of us at the game and we had a great time, even getting sprinkled with a little rain before the roof closed didn’t dampen the spirits. Cal lasted through the entire game, taking a small catnap in the 4th-6th innings. He even got a t-shirt since it was a kid’s day at Safeco.

We were all so wiped from the weekend that we came home and took a nap and Cal is still out!

Go Mariners

Cal went to his first Mariners game last night! We went to the game with the Burdos (who are due to have a baby boy in the next couple of weeks!). All the crowd cheering made him so tired. Here are some pictures from the game and a couple other random pics.

Some new pics

Here are some new pics of Cal. He got a Bumbo chair this weekend and so far seems to like it. We were planning on going to the Spring Fair in Puyallup this weekend but the snow and cold weather put a little damper on those plans.

Here's a testament to how much our lives have changed since having Callahan, we were looking to get out of the house tonight (Saturday night) so we went to Target for fun...
