Oopsies

Since Cal's mobility has kicked into high gear the last couple of weeks, he's been getting a little banged up. He was waking up from a nap and when I went to get him I caught him doing crib "gymnastics." During his crib routine he must have some how whacked his face. This is where a video monitor would come in handy... I put an ice pack on the bumps and he was as good as new a little later, looking good to play with his friend Emily.

We went to the doc today for Cal's 9 month check up. Here's how he measured up:

weight: 23 lbs 11 oz - 88%

height: 31.5" - off the charts

head circum. - 98%

Cal's favorite new game is opening drawers & cabinets and digging for treasures (we're in the process of baby proofing).

Thank you Barney

Ian and I were taken out by what we think was the flu and literally were on our deathbeds Saturday. There’s nothing worse than two really sick parents trying to take care of a 9 month old. It was brutal. Fortunately, Cal was a trooper and kept himself pretty entertained with his toys. And, we can’t thank Gram & Pop enough for the Barney’s Halloween Party DVD they got Cal. We popped this in for the first time and Cal was mesmerized. He’s not really into TV but he was smitten with Barney.

Crawling fool

Every since Friday night, Cal's been on the move. Now that he's crawling, I kinda miss the days of immobility cause he's into everything. Here's a quick glimpse at the crawling man. Many more video to come.

Officially a crawler

Breaking news: Cal FINALLY started crawling. After weeks of getting up on all fours and rocking back and forth he figured it out. He's been getting around for the last couple months by rolling, scooting, pulling, army crawling, etc. and just never showed any interest in actually crawling but he's officially a crawler now.
