The boys.

I feel like the luckiest lady in the world to call these two mine (although there are days they drive me a little crazy, like today when Bennett 'the pitbull' was looking for trouble at the park, picking fights with his friends).
For the last week or so Cal's been sneaking into Bennett's room every morning as soon as he wakes up, climbs into his crib and reads books to him. It's SO sweet hearing them chit chat on the monitor (even on days like today when I'ma little irritated with him waking Bennett up... although I did over hear Cal telling Bennett, "I'll always keep you safe.") So precious.

same story, different week.

Another week of pics, courtesy of my phone. Last week we embraced Apple Blossom with open arms. First up, the kiddy parade. Next up, the food fair on Sunday and it just so happened to be the nicest day we've been in years. It was awesome being able to sit out in the sun, enjoy our food, some entertainment in the park and not be blown away by the wind. And then a couple other random pics - Cal & Lo at Luke's track meet and my big boy waiting at school with me for the doors to open. He thinks it's the coolest thing ever to wait in the front seat.
And a little more randomness from the week. I have a serious baking obsession. A little "sking" in the grass. An after school playdate. And our first little train ride of the spring.
Grammie & Pa were in town this weekend and the boys were trilled to have them. Ian, the kids, Grammie & Pa hiked up Saddlerock today while I was at work and the trek tuckered out one little dude. And poor Cal took a little tumble down the hill (he's showing off his war wound)...
And to finish the weekend, we had some outside fun, did yard work, planted my Mother's Day plants, and winded down with popcorn & a movie.

Sunshine & some mommy 1:1 time does the baby good.

Bennett is slowly working his way out of that little funk he's been in the last couple of weeks and it's been refreshing to have our happy little boy back.  I thank all the sunshine and lots of one-on-one time with mom since Cal's gone home with friends everyday after school this week, giving me and my little man the mornings & afternoons all to ourselves.

Rain, rain go away.

We've had the most amazing spring weather so when the rain hit yesterday, I was at a bit of a loss on what to do to keep the kids entertained inside. We've literally spent endless hours playing outside for the last week and kind of forgot what we like to do indoors.  So out came the crafts...
it's all fun & games until someone eats a marker and paints their lips like a geisha

Weekend fun.

No complaints from this last weekend. It was awesome. Action packed-amazing weather-lots of fun for all...

We kicked off the weekend a little early with a trip to Seattle to catch an M's game Thursday night with my folks. This was B's first Mariner's game and our first game in a couple of years.  The kiddos had a blast and Cal is now completely baseball obsessed. And the fun didn't stop there... we stayed in a hotel which Cal thinks is the coolest thing (especially since it had a fish pond, pool & hot tub) and mama got in a day of shopping before heading back to Wenatchee Friday night.
Saturday started bright & early with the guys heading out on a quick fishing trip... No fish, but they had fun.
Next up, one of Cal's best buds came over and I took them to one of their friend's bday party.
Bowling!
And after the party, Cal, his buddy Cormac and I met up with Ian & Bennett at Touch-a-Truck.
And last but not least, we had the most AMAZING weather for a spring weekend.  80+ degrees, no wind, warm nights. So we literally spent every minute at home playing outside, eating outside, etc. All the outside fun meant late bedtimes to soak in the sunshine and lots of baths for two dirty (& sweaty) boys.
Just in case the kids and I didn't get enough Vitamin D this weekend, we hit the park today for a couple more glorious hours in the sun (just to give you an idea of how nice it's been here, it was 87 degrees out at 5 p.m. tonight, yowzaaa!)

My mini me

B's been in a bit of a 'rut' the last couple of weeks. Part of this rut, has included a bout with hitting (eek!) and a tad bit of aggression. I think we're getting a taste of the terrible 2's... And I hope this passes very soon. But that's not what makes him a my mini, we are also dealing with a major case of mommy attachment. It came out of nowhere and hit hard. This is the boy who rejoiced when I'd leave him at the gym daycare cause he couldn't get enough of playtime with his friends.  Now, the thought of being without momma freaks him out... even if that means just being in a different room.

this means we pretty much do all the cooking together

we fold lots of laundry together
we do mommy's makeup together

Easter 2012.

Working on a little blog catch up... Here's a look at our Easter. I have to say, to me it was one of the best we've had. I loved that we spent a good part of the day at home, I loved how excited the kids were, I loved that Cal had a little understanding of the meaning of Easter & I loved that afternoon was spent with the fam.  All-in-all, an awesome day!

Looks like the Easter Bunny paid us a visit and left a trail for the kids to find their baskets
the loot.
